Tagging Instructions

DO:

  • Use the automated tagging program. It is mandatory.
  • Use white cardstock for your tags.
  • Use NORMAL or DRAFT print setting on your printer.
  • Select “Black Cartridge Only” from printing properties if you have a color printer.
  • Attach your tag to the left shoulder (your right) of all hanging items.
  • Secure the tag on non-clothing items with clear tape.
  • Use safety pins to attach your tags.
  • Hang pants from the waist by pinning the safety pin around the hanger as shown.
  • Make sure all clothing is sorted by gender, size and all buttons, snaps, and zippers are fastened.
  • Make sure all non clothing items are in good, working order with all the pieces and parts accounted for.
  • Make sure clothing items are in excellent condition free of tears and stains, and are up to date.

DO NOT:

  • Handwrite tags, they will NOT be accepted.
  • Use plain paper, construction paper or colored cardstock. Do not use fuzzy/textured  or smooth surface cardstock.
  • Use BEST quality on your printer.  It is too dark and causes the barcodes to bleed
  • Forget to change color printer settings to “Black Cartridge Only”.  Barcodes will appear purple and blurry if this setting is not changed.
  • Attach tag anywhere but the left shoulder
  • Cover the barcode on the tag with any type of tape.
  • Use straight pins.  Any items using straight pins will be pulled from the sales floor.
  • Hang pants so that they slide on the hanger or hang folding them over the hanger.
  • Leave clothes unsorted, unbuttoned, unsnapped, or unzipped.  You will be asked to step to the side to complete this before your items are inspected.
  • Bring broken toys, stuffed animals, toys/puzzles with pieces missing.
  • Bring clothing items that have stains, tears, or are out of date.
